Ingredients
- 200 gm urad dal
- 1 bayleaf
- 1 teaspoon panch phoran
- 1 dry red chilli
- 4 green chillies
- 1/2 teaspoon hing / asafoetida
- 1 teaspoon ginger paste
- 1 teaspoon fennel seeds paste
- as required Salt
- as required Sugar
- as required Mustard oil
Steps
- Boil the urad dal in a pressure cooker by adding some salt and the green chillies and water.After the dal gets boiled, whisk it well with a hand blender and add the turmeric powder.
- Heat some oil in a wok, add the panch phoran, dry red chilli, bay leaf, and then add the hing.
- Add the ginger paste and fennel seeds paste.
- Mix it well and then add the dal.
- Mix it well and add some sugar to balance the salt. Check the salt and add more if required.
- Add some water if required.
- Mix it well and bring it to boil.
- After you get the desired consistency, remove it from the flame and serve hot
